End of an Era! KLM retires Boeing 747 – Skies around the world are about to change as KLM is ending Boeing 747 service. KLM took delivery of its 1st Boeing 747 on January 16th, 1971. Initially the airline was to retire the Boeing 747 in 2021 after 50 years of service however with the current situation this date has been moved forward. KLM will have operated nearly 50 Queens of the Skies!
